Tower Ballroom Rocked by Step By Step Dance School The first National Competition entry en masse for The Juvenile section of pupils up to the age of eleven saw two couples, Emily ONeil and Rebecca Laitt, Laurence Clarkson and Ashleigh Mold, in the semi-finals of the Latin section (Brendan Locke and Deana Hirons just missing out by a whisker), and all three Junior couples achieving positions in both the Latin and Ballroom. Bethany Jones and Lucy Henshaw achieved 3rd in the Ballroom and 4th in the Latin; Lydia Robinson and Haily Bennett achieved 4th in the Ballroom and 5th in the Latin; Rosie and Molly Strudwick Faragher achieved 5th in the Ballroom and 6th in the Latin. The Youth and young adult dancers entered the Under 35 Beginner and Novice sections and again did fabulously well. One couple, Ripp Greatbach and Sophia Neesome achieved 4th in the Beginners Ballroom and 6th in the Novice Ballroom; 4th in the Beginners Latin and 5th in the Novice Latin. They were so surprised, but ecstatic! Bowie Price and Tamara Jones came 7th in the Beginners Ballroom, 5th in the Beginners Latin and 7th in the Novice Latin. Beverly Strong and Jessica Houston came 5th in the Beginners Ballroom, 7th in the Beginners Latin and 6th in the Novice Latin. The young adults, Cx and Delia Perigo, danced their hearts out and achieved a fantastic 6th in the Beginners Ballroom, 2nd in the Beginners Latin and 3rd in the Novice Latin! A big well done to them! The dance school now has two adult competition couples representing them in the Over 35’s sections. Douglas Jones and Belinda Quilter hit the heights in their very first competition entry, achieving 1st place in the Beginners Latin and 2nd place in the Novice Latin categories. They also came 2nd in both the Beginners and Novice Ballroom. Dave Roberts and Andrea Law came 1st in the Intermediate Latin and achieved an amazing 1st in the over 35 Pre-Champ Latin category. They also came 3rd in the Intermediate Ballroom. This is a fantastic step up for them, showing they are going from strength to strength! ![]() |
