We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who took part in our most successful event at the Mill in Banbury on Sunday 11th May 2008.

The scorching Sunday started with a fantastic display from all our local children’s groups. It ran very smoothly with an enthusiastic performance from the children/teenagers and with fantastic support from the spectators who came out in great numbers to watch and encourage our STARS OF THE FUTURE.

Richard and Jenny Funnell then wowed the children and audience with a surprise exquisite ballroom dance demonstration. This was followed by a medal presentation by International dance champion Kamila Domanska and Andrzej Mialkowski to recognise the children and teenagers hard work and dedication.

Next on the bill was our first ever club in house competition. It started with an energetic Latin Semi-final of which was then proceeded with a Ballroom Semi-final. After conferring and combining scores the judges split contestants into two finals A & B. The finals were started with excellent displays in Ballroom with Latin to follow. Nervous confidence grew dance- by -dance applauded by the audience and encouragement in the dressing room area. It was a pleasure to see such fantastic camaraderie between fellow contestants.

The Final ‘Group A’ Ballroom was proudly won by David Roberts (Banbury) and Morna Sung (Kidlington) with Final ‘Group B’ winners being Ivan & Lynne Baker (Brackley).

The Final ‘Group A’ Latin was also won by David and Morna with Tizzy Jones and Louise Speck (Brackley) receiving the winner’s trophies in Final ‘Group B’.

All contestants were then presented with trophies by Kamila Domanska and Andrzej Mialowski rewarding their excellent performances and dedication making this our biggest most successful event yet! Everybody made such a tremendous effort in what seemed to be tropical temperatures!! It was such a great experience some members can’t wait to start the next competition!

After a short break many more of our class members and guests arrived for a most enjoyable social evening of Latin and Ballroom dancing of which was highlighted by another breathtaking display from Richard and Jenny who were busy doubling up as judges for our competition along with our special guest from Poland Kamila Domanska.

Not forgetting to mention Andrea our compere who worked so tirelessly and professionally all afternoon and evening and all other staff members who contributed to making me so proud of the successful day and of our dance school.
