Ballroom dancing is a hit in Banbury

The ballroom dancing craze has sweeping the north of the county by storm as scores of eager Stricley Come Dancing fans have taken up this creative, healthy hobby. Polish ballroom teacher Andrzej Mialkowski has shown people all over north Oxfordshire, the secrets of dancing cheek-to cheek and getting the footsteps just right.Lesson have taken place at venues ranging from village halls to Banbury`s sports centre, There were also three, two-hour workshops at The Mill Arts Centre , Banbury. Organizer, Mill dance tutor Suzette Watson said: "They really enjoyed getting to know all those dances we hear about so much on the popular programmes. Born in Szczecin, Poland in 1980 Andrzej has been dancing since the age of ten. At 20 he began teaching both adults and children in Poland, but only started teaching in the UK in 2005. Andrzej has won awards for his dancing in Poland, Germany, France, Norway... Andrzej is great tutor and teaches all dances in Latin - including cha cha, samba, rumba, jive, paso doble, polka and salsa and ballroom with the waltz, foxtrot, tango, viennese waltz, and quickstep......
